A woman was in our store the other night looking for foam floor tiles for her baby, and we didn’t have the ones she wanted. She came to the register with a different kind and gave the cashier a coupon for a store that isn’t ours and we won’t accept cos we don’t consider them our competition. So she made a scene and went to other store to see if they had some. They didn’t, cos the ones she’d chosen are exclusive to our company. She came back an hour later bitching into her phone to her friend that she “had to drive all the way to the other store and they didn’t have them and the people here (our store) are stupid” etc. After she collected the tiles again she came to the service desk where I was working and the MoD was standing behind me printing stuff. She declared “The manager said she’d give me 20% off my purchase cos you won’t take my coupon.” My male manager turned around and said “Ma’am I’m the manager, and I did no such thing.”  She was silent for the rest of the transaction.
